• New bills have been introduced for this session. They are A.5406 and S.4296 [4/15/05]
• A Senate version of the FHCDA has been introduced. It is bill number S.5393. [6/9/03]
• The most recent version of the FHCDA has been introduced. It is bill number A.6315. [3/16/03]
• Both houses have passed, and the Governor has signed S.4622-B, the Health Care Decisions Act for Persons with Mental Retardation. This law reflects many of the changes found in the FHCDA, but is limited to mentally retarded persons only. It represents an important move forward (for at least some incapacitated patients). [6/22/02]

• The State Bar Health Law Section has proposed a revision of the FHCDA which should improve chances for passage. [5/19/01]
