Supporting Family Health Care Decisions
New York is one of the only states to exclude families from making critical medical decisions for patients who lack the capacity to decide for themselves. Tragically, this fact is often not discovered until it is too late. As a result, incapacitated patients with no Health Care Proxy are subject to medical decisions made by those with far less knowledge of the patient.
